The West Country

From our base nestled in the heart of Falmouth’s Carrick Roads, we’re blessed with some of the finest coastline in the British Isles right on our door step. This itinenary brings a real advantage to charterers that don’t want to undertake long, non-stop passages between destinations and allow for a more leisurely pace, with no need to sail for longer than 5-6 hours between most potential stopovers.

Recommended charter duration – 5 days+

Heading west from Falmouth, we will have the opportunity to visit the beautiful Helford River, the Lizard Peninsula and if we’re lucky with the weather, even anchor overnight alongside the famous St. Michael’s mount off Marazion. Newlyn also presents a great opportunity to visit a flourishing fishing town and the adjoining town of Penzance. Heading east from Falmouth and we have the entire south coast of the UK at our disposal. The picturesque town of Fowey is just a 5 hour sail away and as we work further along the coast towards Devon, we have the St. Germans River, Cawsand Bay and a selection of great marinas in and around the city of Plymouth. Further east and we have the fabulous River Yealm which offers some of the most tranquil nights aboard with a range of great walks and pubs. Further still and we have options for stopping over in Salcombe, Dartmouth and Brixham, as well as the opportunity to enjoy one of the most beautiful anchorages we’ve experienced in a little known spot off the outskirts of Torquay, the English Riviera.

A sailing holiday based in the West Country won’t disappoint – expect great food, pubs, shopping and a warm welcome throughout.
