About Arcarius

First launched in 1991, little is known about her early ownership but we do know that she has completed at least one circumnavigation and has cruised the Caribbean and Mediterranean extensively. Alex has owned her since 2019 and, with friends and family, covered almost 18,000 nautical miles cruising the West Country, Isles of Scilly, the Channel Islands, North Brittany, Atlantic France, Biscay, Spain, Portugal and the Mediterranean.

Arcarius has now been professionally coded for category 2 commercial use and has benefited from a range of major upgrades and enhancements. Whilst she is an older yacht, what she might lack in sumptuous cabin layouts, she makes up for by way of pure go-anywhere sailing pedigree and creature-comfort throughout.

A few key features of the boat

A powerful cutter rig, deep forefoot and semi long keel combined with her semi-heavy displacement makes for a balanced sailing experience. Put simply, she cuts through ocean swells rather than relentlessly slamming on top of them.

A recently installed and uprated inboard engine for use when the wind evades us, her sizeable fuel tanks would allow for more than 4 days of non-stop motoring between refuels!

A suite of recent, high quality sails.

High quality ground tackle gear which won’t limit our anchoring capabilities.

A full suite of modern instruments and navigational aids to include a modern chart plotter, a powerful auto pilot, AIS and radar, not forgetting a range of traditional charts and plotting tools operated from a proper chart table, not some fold away thing!

Power when you need it: A powerful marine generator providing 240V and hot water whenever and wherever required, a sizeable and effective solar panel array and an efficient diesel heater for those chilly evenings.

New for 2026: A comprehensive and unlimited Starlink internet installation providing internet speeds in excess of 200mbps virtually anywhere in the world (please note that an additional cost may apply for offshore use).

A quality tender and outboard engine.

Equipped with double heads (the forward acting as an ensuite to the forepeak), holding tank and fully functional onboard showers.

A beautiful saloon with a range of onboard reading material, games and a quality music system.

A very well designed galley to include a deep and efficient fridge, a legendary Taylors 041 stove/oven/grill (not forgetting the Cobb BBQ for outdoor cooking), and a full set of quality cooking equipment.

A host of recently installed safety equipment to include life jackets for all, a range of wet weather gear and general lifesaving equipment.
